On choosing: a darker colour lets in less light and heat and provides more UV protection than a lighter colour. That matters most over a pool or a play area.
Shade cloth
The Rainbow Shade Z16 range. A knitted mesh: it blocks sun and lets water through, which is often what you want over a pool.
Waterproof
The Rainbow Shade DriZ range. A coated fabric that sheds water, so the space underneath stays dry as well as shaded. UV-R block and shade figures are the manufacturer's published values per colour.
Vinyl
The widest colour selection of the three ranges, at 40 colours.
